History

During wwii, Queensbridge Hall played home to just over 50 land girls. The girls would look after animals, harvest the crops and work 50-hour weeks walking and cycling to farms within a wide radius of the Hall. They would often frequent the Overton Cocoa Rooms where they would sit in front of the blazing fire, drink tea and eat beetroot or jam sandwiches. Queensbridge Hall still holds a place in the hearts of those ladies who are still alive today and often attend the annual Overton Produce Show and revisit the area.
