Directions

The town of Keynsham has a long and rich history, from Roman times and well before. Positioned on the junction of the rivers Avon and Chew, the A4 trunk road also used to run through the town – before the bypass was built in the 1960s – so Keynsham has always been an important transport and communications hub. Several Roman villas have been found here, and there was a well-established Abbey from around 1170 until Henry viii’s dissolution of the monasteries in 1539.

Today it is a thriving town, popular with commuters to Bristol (6 miles), Bath (10 miles) and the M4 corridor, and with local employment opportunities and everyday amenities in the town itself.
