Situated in a delightfully quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Edgabston is this deceptively spacious detached family home. The accommodation is well laid out offering a charming l-shaped sitting room with a dining area overlooking the private rear garden, a large family room, and a newly installed luxury kitchen with a utility area and cloakroom. To the first floor there are four double bedrooms, two with en-suites and a new family bathroom. With a very private outlook to the rear, the extensive elevated terrace leads to a landscaped rear back garden, with a shaped lawn and mature shrubbery. To the front is a pretty fore garden mainly laid to lawn with a lovely Magnolia tree, there is also a good sized private driveway for around four cars and a double integrated garage.
Vendor Interview - This delightful family home sits within a quiet cul-de-sac in the highly desirable central Birmingham area of Edgbaston, a largely residential area renowned for its green spaces and lack of industrial development. The property, which has been a loving home to a growing family for 10 years, is close to the city centre yet only a stones throw away from a range of attractions which give the area a feeling of sanctuary; the house has a wealth of places on the doorstep which make it easy to forget just how urban the location is; the wonderfully tranquil Birmingham Botanical Gardens are just a short walk away so close in fact that they have become an extension of our home! Winterbourne House & Garden, a seven-acre oasis home to over 6000 different plant species, is also nearby, says the present owner. Describing Malcomson Close as a small community made up of a multi-generational mix of professional people and families who all look out for each other is what the present owners say they will really miss.
Edgbaston is the home of Birmingham University which has some impressive campuses, including lakeside parkland The Vale, alongside world class sports facilities. For the cricket lover, Edgbaston Cricket Ground is a walkable distance from the property. The area offers a great choice of schools, many accessible by foot, and excellent transport links.
A really lovely feature of the house is that all of the rooms face the garden, so wherever you are there are good views. The house is well-proportioned and spacious yet cosy. The garden is very secluded so peaceful that its easy to forget youre in the middle of a large city.
The main family room with one side almost completely made of glass this brings the garden into the home and makes the flow from indoors to out really easy. Its where we spend most our time.
The large patio gets full sun from morning to late afternoon which makes it usable all-year-round the garden is easy to maintain. The area is safe and secure, and our children can play outside without being close to traffic or other dangers. The area is quiet and the location extremely convenient its perfect to escape the busyness of life yet easy to get into town if you want to be closer to the action.
Its a good house for entertaining and we have some cherished memories of hosting family and friends during the summer the place really comes into its own.
Well miss the flow of the house, the wonderful layout and the safety and convenience of the location. Were upsizing but are staying in the area as we love it so much.
