Property Description

If you are looking for a two bedroom cottage in tranquil countryside yet convenient for town, with big open fireplaces in the downstairs rooms to keep you warm and toastie in winter and a sloping garden running down to a small river to enjoy your summer months, then we really do have a NewHome4U

Come to our office for free Independent mortgage advice open 7 days a week or just email or even ‘call': Do you like the photos? Well may be you would you like to view this home personally because, one of the best things about NewHome4U is, we open 7 days a week and we’re physically in the office 4U just so that you can view, ‘’like no other estate agent in Mold’

Tucked away down a concealed cul-de-sac in Bersham, this home could have been written by Enid Blyton. The day I visited the sun was streaming through the branches of nearby shrubs and trees, all that was missing was the Famous Five with their picnics and lashings of ginger beer. The mid terraced home sits opposite a widened stretch of the narrow access road, immediately answering the first question raised about homes of this type: Yes, there is somewhere to park. Already in sound condition, future maintenance worries are alleviated by the knowledge that the roof was completed overhauled within the last 5 pr 6 years.

To the front of the home lies a small crushed slate garden with various plants and shrubs in pots to add a splash of colour and, beneath its protective porch the white semi glazed UPVC front door. Entering the main hallway we find a practical and hard wearing wood laminate floor with the stairs immediately in front of us.

To the left is a door into the front lounge where the wood flooring continues. This square room is generously proportioned and visually dominated by the large chimney breast with its very attractive wooden fire surround and mantelpiece beneath which stands an enormous open dog grate capable of holding a serious log fire. In fact were this to be lit and used in anger, I am sure that the electric storage heaters present in virtually every room would swiftly become redundant. Merely leaving the door ajar would ensure heat rising throughout what is after all, not a big home.

Moving towards the rear we find the dining room. This is a little larger than the lounge and again features not only an electric storage heater but a stone built 70s style fireplace and adjacent log store. Lighting this, in conjunction with the one in the lounge would overcome even the bitterest of nights and being positioned as they are, would represent an early form of ‘central’ heating. Sorry, I couldn’t resist that… However should real fires sound too much like hard work to you, the storage heaters fitted in every room offer a convenient alternative.

Through another door we step down into the square kitche cupboard space and work tops while accommodating the free standing electric cooker and automatic washing n. This is not the largest of rooms but manages to make the most of its available space, providing adequate machine. Another door opens into the space beneath the stairs which provides not only storage for all the household ‘stuff’ that we all have but also the tall free standing fridge/freezer.

Out through the back door we find a world reminiscent of Ratty’s house in ‘The Wind in the Willows’. Laid largely to ornamental crushed slate broken up by various plants and shrubs in pots, this tiered area runs down past the greenhouse and various seating areas towards the river Clwedog that burbles its way past the end of the garden, providing a sound track of such peace and relaxation you will not want to leave.

Tearing ourselves away from the garden and moving upstairs brings us onto the broad landing where straight ahead of us is the bathroom. If I am brutally honest, this could benefit from a bit a makeover but everything you need is present, clean and functional. Any changes undertaken are probably more to do with taste than necessity but it is always important to feel you have put your own stamp on any new home. The existing suite comprises a pedestal hand basin, lavatory and bath with glass screen protecting the room from the electric wall mounted shower. There is also a large airing cupboard housing not only linen but the how water tank.

Adjacent to here and overlooking the lovely rear garden is the smaller second bedroom. You’ll notice I say ‘smaller’, because ‘small’ it isn’t. Made all the more attractive by the genuine scrubbed wood floor, this would easily take a full double bed leaving sufficient floor space for any free standing furniture you may require.

Lastly we come to the main bedroom overlooking the front of the home. Stretching the full width of the house this is a very comfortably sized room, providing ample space for its large double fronted wardrobe, bedside tables and full double bed.

All in all this is the sort of home we dream of retiring to. Its position, within minutes of Wrexham centre gives it the accessibility we need, but the atmosphere and countryside aspect that we crave. Its size makes it easy to run and maintain and the thought of sitting peacefully in the garden, with a book and a drink while listening to the sound of the river passing by make this a very tempting prospect indeed.
