The garden, which gets all–day sun, is big enough to feel grand yet not so big that it’s unmanageable – the pond with its fountain makes it feel very magical.’

Favourite room in the property: ‘It has to be the living room, with its grand fireplace. The fireplace, an original feature, is a copy of the front door – just one of the many unusual features which give the house its character.’

Favourite aspect of the grounds and surrounding area: ‘Sitting on a lounge chair just taking it all in – house, pond, trees, garden – feels very therapeutic. What will you miss most? ‘Literally everything! I’ll miss the whole house as I have so much love for it. Even after living here for 11 years I still get butterflies when I drive through the gate. I’m moving back home to Slovakia.’
