I love my bright, warm flat and the direct sunlight it gets through the bedrooms' huge period windows, and even bigger lounge windows. On warm, sunny days I love to open the double doors to the juliet balcony overlooking the courtyard garden -- it feels like i'm outdoors even though i'm sitting inside. When it rains hard I find myself peering out over the courtyard and the streets beyond, glad to be home and dry. The big entry hall adds a sense of space and separation between the bedrooms and the rest of the flat, and thanks to the hall if someone is watching TV in the living area you won't hear it in the bedrooms.
I love the historic architecture around Portland square, just across the road, and the square's park is a beautiful place to read or have a picnic. Castle Park is good for a walk or a run and just the other side of Cabot Circus. Bristol is a great, vibrant city and living here lets me make the most of it. On weekends one of my favourite things is to wander around the old city and the harbour as there are always events going on, and I like to check out the St. Nicholas and Harbourside markets and food stalls. Films at the Watershed, live music at the Old Duke and dinner at Brasserie Blanc are some of my local favourites, and all in walking distance. I've never wanted a car because everything I want is within walking distance: Cabot Circus, Broadmead, Stokes Croft, Gloucester road, Temple Meads and my work on Queens road. When I don't want to walk, bus service here is excellent, so I rent out my parking space long-term online for about £90 a month.
