This Victorian town house has the appearance and layout of the classic large 3 bedroom terrace but with one notable exception; it stands alone. How this has occurred is lost in history; all I can suggest is that the building of the adjacent theatre prompted the demolition of the rest of the terrace, but this is only my theory.

Entering the hall we find an attractive half glazed wooden door leading into the laminate floored hallway. From here a door on our right puts us in the dining room, a large square space with a two windows thus maximising natural light into the room. This is a very comfortable size for a dining room, well able to accommodate a full 6 seat table and accompanying welsh dresser with ease.
A large set of sliding glass doors leads towards the front of the home and gives access to the lounge. This is all a lounge should be, cosy and welcoming with a modern gas fire to give that homely feel on a bitter winter’s night. I know it’s still warm but trust me, it’s coming…..
On the other side of the dining room we come into what I find a bit of an odd room. Originally I suspect it was the dining room from the days when the current dining room was a sitting room and the current lounge was the formal parlour and only used at Christmas.
Are you following this? There will be a short test at the end. However it is now something of a room in search of a purpose, although opening up the already well equipped kitchen to include this space could result in something truly spectacular. As we all know, the best parties are always in the kitchen, so a big space with settees and comfy seating would seem a sensible way to go.
In its existing form the kitchen is both comprehensively equipped and well thought out with plenty of workspace, with the more heavy duty machinery, washers and the like in the utility room to the rear of the home. In between these two, there is a downstairs lavatory – always a godsend in any family home.
To the rear of the home is a very large (15’6” by 8’6”) shed come workshop which, being supplied with both power and light makes a man cave (or woman don’t want to sound sexist!) worthy of the name. An enclosed courtyard gives you ample space for the bbq season and outdoor time.
Ok, back inside and moving upstairs to the broad landing and moving towards the front of the home you find the master bedroom. And Master bedroom it is. At over 15’ by almost 13’ it shows that those Victorians knew a thing or two about spacious living. Try asking for a modern house with this much room and Mr Redrow (other builders are available) would laugh in your face.
Similarly the next bedroom is very generously proportioned and wonderfully light thanks to its double aspect windows. Next comes the bathroom. This is perfectly acceptable although perhaps not equipped to the standard of some of the other rooms but this is largely a matter of taste. New purchasers frequently do not feel a home is theirs until they have put their own stamp on it and kitchens and bathrooms are often the first to be altered.
Finally there is the third bedroom. Currently in use as a study-come-den-come-office this is nevertheless more than big enough to make a very comfy single or at a pinch, double bedroom.

Built in the days before stud walling had been thought of, when walls were made of bricks and nothing else would do, this will outlast many modern new builds and provide comfortable living in the meantime. It is spacious, the accommodation is flexible and well laid out and the man cave in the rear garden could be the saving of many a marriage…. Rhos is a convenient location for getting into Wrexham should the more local facilities fail you and for the culture vultures, the theatre is next door. Now that’s class.
