2 Starveall is a mid-terrace period Cotswold cottage in a spectacular elevated setting, with dramatic southerly views, in a delightful little community at the head of a no through country lane, consisting of three attractive cottages with No 2 in the middle. Believed to originally have been Weavers cottages with good ceiling heights typical of that period, light floods into No 2, which is freshly presented throughout. Its accommodation comprises: A front porch, sitting room with stone fireplace and wood burning stove inset, breakfast room also with fireplace and wood burning stove, and an individually made and hand painted shaker style kitchen. On the first floor are a double and a single bedroom (currently used as a study) and the bathroom, with a further double bedroom on the top floor. The property has a large level garden to the rear. No 2 has its own garage with space to park in front, an excellent Summer House/Studio, with decked area from which to enjoy the views, greenhouse and other outbuildings. Overall the abiding impression, is of being at peace with nature, surrounded by unspoilt countryside.
2 Starveall Cottages is situated in an elevated setting close to the pretty little village of Box. The essence of this location apart from the views is the comfortable feeling of being rural but not isolated, with neighbours on either side. Minchinhampton is minutes away with its shops, primary school, doctors and dentists surgeries, as is the thriving market town of Nailsworth, just down the valley. A network of public footpaths lead from here out into the adjacent countryside for walkers and at the bottom of the hill is an excellent pub - The Weighbridge. The cottage is normally within 2 hours of London by road, trains from Kemble station at Cirencester are scheduled from about 75 minutes into London Paddington, while nearby Stroud also has a mainline station, 4 major supermarkets, an award winning Farmers Market, multiplex cinema and a provincial theatre. For golfers - Minchinhampton has three challenging courses, there are local livery stables and numerous equestrian events locally, including high goal polo in the summer months and the Gatcombe Horse Trials at The Gatcombe Estate, immediately opposite.
From our Minchinhampton Office, proceed down Well Hill out of Minchinhampton and at the subsequent 'Y' junction at Forwood keep on left, down the hill. The entrance to the lane leading up to Starveall Cottages is then on the right, immediately before the sign for 'Balls Green'. Follow this lane up the hill to the very top and park at the rear of the cottages.
The lane leading to the property is part of a public footpath with vehicular rights of way to all three cottages. It is maintained voluntarily by the occupiers of all three properties.
