Property Description

EweMove Salisbury - A Grade II listed three-bedroom home with plenty of character and situated within the city centre and dating from circa 1450 offers a wood burning stove, oak beams and loads of period features. Includes gas fired central heating and a pretty cottage garden. See the 3D Video.

We're in Salisbury to look at a lovely three-bed home with lots of character in a fantastic location. Situated in the centre of the city, this property is close to everything. It's a 5 minutes' easy walk along quiet streets to the city centre, all on one level, to all shops, bars and restaurants. There are leisure facilities, a well visited gym on Guilder Lane itself even. There are many cultural events throughout the year and famous places of interest to visit. Public transport links are good as well as main roads like the A36 and A30, so you have plenty of ways to get around the city and the surrounding area by whatever form of transport you choose.

Our property sits on a very traditional Salisbury road and, unusually for these times, the residents of Guilder Lane and the continuing Greencroft share a sense of community in helping each other out and getting together for street events. It's quiet and surrounded by buildings of character, much like itself. Guilder Lane is a historic street in the centre of the City and within the original Chequer Street layout of Salisbury. These houses were built before cars were thought off but permit parking is available. A painted black front door greets us and leads straight into the lounge. This cosy room is the perfect welcome. A window to the front lets in plenty of light and we have an exposed brick fireplace with a Clearview wood burning stove - perfect for providing a great atmosphere in the evenings. The stairs to the first floor are opposite the front door but the back of the room has a glass-panelled door to the back garden, which we'll return to shortly, and a utility room with a toilet, sink, boiler and washing machine point. This room is tiled while the rest of the rooms feature wood flooring.

On the other side of the chimney, and with access at both the front and back of the room, is the kitchen. The wood flooring continues and matches smart floor and wall storage cupboards, painted cream, with natural wood worktops. There's room for a table and chairs and a good amount of space to cook in. Space for an oven and fridge/freezer keeps this room looking smart.

Take the carpeted stairs to the first floor to see exposed beams throughout the hall, adding character we'll see throughout the property, and stairs to the second floor. First, continue down the hall to reach the first of three bedrooms. There are views across the City towards the Cathedral from here. This is a rear facing room currently being used as a study and guest room with a bunk bed opposite a desk. Wood flooring and a view over the back garden are nice features in the smallest of the bedrooms.

Round the corner to find a huge bathroom. With a front facing window for light, wooden flooring, toilet, sink and bathtub with overhead shower attachment, you won't be feeling cramped. There's also a dressing area and still plenty of room left over. Before we reach the final room on this floor, we have a storage cupboard which sits under the stairs to the second floor. Head into the bedroom, which is the largest on this floor and front facing, to discover a bright room with good views and an almost l-shape with storage space behind the door. Return to the stairs and head up to the second floor.

This leads us into a great top floor bedroom taking full advantage of the exposed beams. There are two Velux windows to the rear elevation, again with City/Cathedral views. It should be noted there is restricted height here, especially in the eaves but there's also a beam across the entrance. These add great character to the property. With windows to the rear and plenty of storage space to make use of, this large bedroom is beautiful. It also includes a tiled en suite, with a walk-in shower, toilet and sink. Just beyond this are more storage cupboards. You can do so much with this room!

Go back to the ground floor and take the door from the lounge into the back garden. Steps lead down from the building into a lovely and well-cared for garden with a lot of flowers and greenery. There's wood storage for the burner and a small shed. The highlight is a great courtyard which offers privacy and is great for sitting and enjoying the sun. As an added bonus, there are also vegetables planted in the garden that allows you to grow some of your own food.

Don't miss out on your chance to see this great home because we can promise you it won't be around for long. Call us now to book a viewing 24x7 or book a time online at our website now! Still not sure - take a look at the 3D video!
