A stylish two double bedroom top floor apartment set within this converted period building on Springfield Road in the heart of Cotham.
The accommodation comprises a living room with stripped wooden floor, ceiling rose, cornicing and built in alcove storage. There is a cast-iron period fireplace with slate hearth and Bath stone surround, twin sash windows complete with their balconettes face out onto the front of the property allowing for plenty of natural light whilst the galley style kitchen sits just off of the main living room and features a range of contemporary base units, with solid wood work-tops, built in storage shelving unit, Belfast style sink and integrated oven/hob with stainless steel and glass extractor hood.
There are stripped floorboards in the central hallway which benefits from a large floor to ceiling arched timber framed sash window and provides access to the bedrooms and bathroom. The master bedroom is at the rear of the property, featuring panoramic views across the city and beyond via a timber framed sash window. Further detailing includes cornice, built in storage, stripped wood floor and an original fireplace. Sharing the same view the second bedroom is next door and has been set up as a smaller double with stripped wooden floor. To complete the accommodation is a smartly finished bathroom with a modern white suite, floor to ceiling tiles above the bath and shower, built in cupboard and an arched sash window overlooking the side of the building. There is also the added benefit of additional storage within the loft space.
The property has been tastefully and sympathetically modernised by it's current owner and is well located close to all the amenities of both Gloucester and Cheltenham Roads, is just over half a mile from the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Bristol University while also being within 1 mile of the city centre. This property is also located within the Kingsdown Parking Zone.
Vendor's Comment's :- When I bought the property in 2007, I fell in love with the big, sunny rooms and the spectacular view across Bristol – fireworks night is amazing! Since then i’ve had the flat restored to its original proportions, raising the ceilings to their previous height, stripping the Bath stone fireplaces and restoring them to working order, putting sash windows in the hall and bathroom, and refurbishing throughout. The flat is light, spacious and elegant, with plenty of storage.
I enjoy my walk to work through picturesque Kingsdown. There is a lot of variety in the area - classy Clifton and the People’s Republic of Stokes Croft are both within easy reach, as are the shopping malls in town and the small, independent retailers on Gloucester Rd. There are several parks in north Bristol – Cotham Gardens, Redland Green, St Andrews, the Downs. I am moving to suit my family, otherwise i’d be happy to stay.
