Property Description

Welcome to The Red House. A property that is imposing, elegant and flooded with natural light due to the large casement windows found throughout, it is also a property that not only sits centrally to its plot but also to the village in which it can be found. The village of Bredon is found within the civil parish of Wychavon District at the southern edge of Worcestershire in England. It lies on the banks of the River Avon on the lower slopes of Bredon Hill, at 'the beginning of the Cotswolds'.

Located to the north of Tewkesbury, Bredon is three miles from the medieval town of Tewkesbury and sixteen miles from Cheltenham, whilst the M5 and M50 are easily sought as is the A38. Amenities within the village include a doctor's surgery, village primary school with an outstanding ofsted report, shop and post office as well as a public house and restaurant. The village also offers a range of recreational attractions to include cricket, football, rugby, bowls and ballet.

Returning to the property, this is a house that offers more than you think. Firstly, the main house offers accommodation over a number of levels. The ground floor includes a central entrance hall with traditional tiled floor and a sweeping staircase that continues throughout the many floors. A formal drawing room can be found to the left, whilst turning right will take you into the dining room, with both rooms offering log burner fireplaces with the fireplace in the dining room being found within an inglenook. Steps from the dining room lead into the kitchen which has recently been installed, here a number of integral appliances can be found to meet today's needs and they include, a range cooker with extractor fan over and microwave oven. The final rooms to this floor include the rear lobby and cloakroom. Moving up, the first floor offers two bedrooms, the master bedroom with recently fitted three piece en suite bathroom, an additional double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and the family bathroom, also recently installed. Moving upwards and a further two bedrooms can be found, both are double rooms with one having fitted wardrobes, the other offering an en suite shower room. The final rooms within the main body of the house include the two attic rooms and a cellar

To the right hand of the main house is a covered passage way, this apart from providing access to the rear garden, also houses a small utility section plus gives access to the one bedroom ground floor self-contained apartment. Being spacious and light, the accommodation is very well laid out. Internally there is a large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and an en suite bathroom, a living/dining room with French doors to the front garden, an electric living flame fire inset to a wooden surround and a fitted kitchen, offering views over the rear garden. Additionally there is a private front door leading to a small entrance hall which in turn gives access to a cloakroom. The final piece of accommodation that The Red House has to offer is a self-contained studio. Accessed from an external spiral staircase found in the rear garden, the accommodation comprises of an open plan living/bedroom area, kitchenette and private bathroom.

Outside and the grounds are as impressive as the house. Mature, colourful and private, the gardens are a delight. Approached via a gravelled driveway, there is parking for several vehicles with the remainder of the front being laid to lawn, enclosed within a natural stone wall and having mature trees and shrubs. The rear garden has recently had a large paved terrace installed, this providing ample space to entertain in the summer months, the remaining garden is laid to formal lawns, has mature shrubs and as such offers a high degree of privacy.

The Red House is a delightful home, full of history and character, being set within a desirable village found within the Bredon Hills and viewing is highly recommended.
