Nestled in the heart of Epping Forest, on the edge of the sought after village of High Beech is this property, a very large and beautifully presented family home. “Over and above anything else, I think it was the setting that proved to be the biggest attraction when we first came across this property, ” says the owner. “My husband works in London, and from here he can be in the city centre in around forty minutes, however the house enjoys this gorgeous forest location, so at the end of the day we can all come home and feel totally away from it all. In fact our surroundings are so tranquil and picturesque that we've often said living here is almost like being on holiday.”
The house was quite dramatically remodelled in 1990 and the current owner has over time made a few further changes to enhance it further. They took a small portion of the family bathroom to create a very nice en-suite and then refurbished the new family bathroom.
It's a very comfortable family home with generous proportions and the majority of the rooms take in the lovely views of our surroundings. The large kitchen/breakfast room has French doors that open out on-to the patio, and it's nice to be able to extend that space into the garden when the weather is warm. Outside there is the patio terrace and a good size lawn and the boundary fencing is low so that you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the field and forest beyond. There is a very large parking area to the front, and the garden areas both front and back, are very secluded and wonderfully peaceful.
What the Owner says:
For me my favourite would have to be what we call ‘the quiet room', which has a very tranquil atmosphere. I'm sure my husband would choose the TV room, but when we have visitors,
everyone naturally gravitates to the kitchen. In fact each of the rooms has something to offer.
The location really speaks for itself, we're surrounded by all of this natural beauty, but at the same time nothing is too far away. In short, it offers the very best of both worlds.
One aspect of living in the forest that we've really enjoyed is being able to step out of the front door and go on the most wonderful walks. Each time we can take a different route and we can literally walk for miles without seeing a soul.
We have decided that the time is right to downsize, but we will definitely be staying in the area as we really can't imagine that there would be anywhere better to live.
