Property Description

Are you looking for a classic 1930s three bedroom family home with lovely high ceilings, featuring a detached brick built double garage that sits on an enormous corner plot with loads of parking to the front & it’s been recently refurbished to an excellent standard….Then this really is the NewHome4U

Come to our office for free Independent mortgage advice or just email or even ‘call': Do you like the photos? Well may be you would you like to view this home personally…..The good thing about NewHome4U is, we open 7 days a week and we’re physically in the office 4U just so that you can, ‘’like no other estate agent in Mold’

At the head of a small cul-de-sac off Wepre Park in Connah’s Quay this is a home that offers such massive potential it is hard to know where to start. This is the right hand half of a pair of 1930s semis (if you are looking at it head on, otherwise it’s the left hand side). Anyway, it has an attractive lawn to the front of the home, alongside the broad driveway…..Actually, ‘broad’ does not do this drive justice in any way. It widens out as it approaches the double garage until it fills the whole width of the twin doors, while to the other side a raised paved area offers the scope for further expansion if desired – in fact, there could even be potential to build another home here – but we would advise you to speak to the local planning authority first.

A small protruding canopy offers a degree of weather protection to the semi-glazed UPVC front door that sits alongside the large bay window of the downstairs lounge. Opening this door allows us into the square hallway, from where the stairs rise in front of us while to the left, is the door into the lounge.
This is a comfortably proportioned room, kept bright and cheerful by the light from the previously mentioned bay. The floor is laid with quality wood laminate for all the right practical reasons; durability and ease of cleaning among them. The chimney breast features an electric living flame effect fire, mounted in a white painted wooden mantelpiece and hearth. This is more for effect than for providing heat, as that is taken care of by the gas combi powered central heating, though it does remain an eye catching feature. As we know, just looking at a fire will make us feel cosier and that feeling is what a home should provide.

A door at the rear of the lounge opens into the kitchen/diner with its ceramic tiled floor. We enter at the ‘kitchen’ end of the room and find a neat cooking area with a gas hob sitting above the electric fan oven, in turn mounted into a series of storage units with solid work tops above. One of these units has made way for the automatic washing machine that no-one can really do without. Another door reveals the under-stair larder/store/place for all the stuff we can never find a home for. It also houses the electricity board, meters and gas inlet. The far end of the room provides the dining area. This, while not huge, would accept a fair sized dining table for those occasions when, a tray on your knee is simply not what you fancy….And it is always a good thing to have that choice.

To the side of the home, the back door opens onto a small patio type area adjacent to the side of the garage. This is also used to store the wheelie bins and, to keep such practical considerations out of sight, is hidden from the body of the garden by a line of dense shrubbery.

To the rear of the garage is another patio area, ideal for a table and chairs on those hot summer nights, or BBQs with friends, where you can sit and admire the rolling acres of the rest of the garden. Actually that is not the exaggeration it sounds, as this is not the garden you’d expect when coming to view a three bed semi. It is fair to say that the garden you expected lies to the rear of the house, while to the rear of the garage and its adjoining patio lie another couple, each of a similar size. This is what makes this home special: The space for children to run wild; alright, not too wild, or for the dog to exercise himself with no effort from you.

Now, why is this garden so much bigger than its neighbours? I’ve no idea but, when I was walking up the road I noticed that number 6 is next door and that number 8 is missing! So, at some time in the past, has number 8 been knocked down and the land where it sat been taken over by no.10? Well, if you have any ideas, perhaps you could send your answers on a post card to: NewHome4U, Mold ?

Ok, back inside: Moving up the newly carpeted stairs and towards the front of the home, we find the expected third bedroom. As is ever the case in homes of this type, this remains strictly a single room, but a comfy one at that. However should your family needs not yet require a third bed, this would make an ideal home office or hobby room or when the time comes, nursery.

Adjacent to here is the principal bedroom. This is a very comfortable room, made all the more so by the large bay window which mirrors that found in the main lounge. Two recesses sit either side of the central chimney breast which would easily provide space for built in wardrobes if desired but if not, there is ample floor space to accommodate free standing furniture.

Moving again to the rear of the home, there is the final bedroom. Although not as large as the principal, this would easily accept a double bed along with the necessary furniture and offers a pleasant view over the surrounding gardens.

Finally, there is the bathroom. Floored in attractive and practical vinyl looking for all the world like genuine ceramic tiles, this is well equipped and obviously freshly re-fitted. It offers the standard suite of pedestal hand basin, lavatory and bath with electric shower above. The shower screen giving protection to the rest of the room is quite novel, as it is a bi-fold system that all but disappears when not in use making for a less claustrophobic experience when in someone is actually bathing. Only a small thing, but it is the details that make a home special.

All in all this is a well presented traditional home but one with a difference because, if outside space is your thing, look no further as the garden is massive and with a large brick built double garage outbuilding too. The home is in apple-pie order and offers all the accommodation you expect from somewhere of this type. It is conveniently located in walking distance of the centre of town and even closer to the open spaces of Wepre Park. Similarly, commuters are well catered for with the nearby access to the major road network, so it seems to tick a great deal of boxes. Is your box among them?
