An excellent example of a classic Victorian workers cottage in St Werburghs.
Situated on the quiet cul-de-sac of Saxon Road, this bay fronted property has been well maintained by the current owners and offers a blend of original character, style and charm. With two bedrooms and a loft room, the property offers lots of space and there is scope to extend the property off the kitchen at the back if desired, (subject to usual permissions).
From the main entrance, the hallway features stripped wood floors that continue through to the living room. This room is complete with tall ceilings, coving, bay window, alcove shelving and a log burner with slate hearth. The room is lovely and light and looks out onto the peaceful cul-de-sac out front.
Pass the stairs in the centre of the house and the back part of the house has been open planned to create a spacious kitchen diner. The room features a range of wall and base units arranged along two of the walls. There are spaces and plumbing for appliances including a washing machine and range cooker. The centre of the room lends itself to a dining area which will comfortably accommodate a table for six people. A door and separate patio doors lead out onto the patio and garden (see later).
The central stairway leads up to the first floor which comprises a master bedroom spanning the full width of the property and features twin windows looking out from the front elevation. The second double bedroom is located at the back of the property and overlooks the beautiful garden. Next door to this is a family bathroom which includes a side panel bath with shower over, toilet and pedestal wash basin. The room feels lovely and light and airy.
A further staircase leads up into the loft space. The room feels wonderfully light and airy courtesy of the two large Velux windows. The room has a lovely rustic feel to it with the exposed wood stained floorboards and is currently used as an office/occasional bedroom.
Externally the garden has been thoughtfully landscaped by the current owners. The sun patio extends from the end of the kitchen where there are two useful outdoor stores. Raised railway sleeper borders are well stocked with herbs, plants and flowers and the rest of the garden is laid to lawn. Slatted fences on the neighbouring boundary offer privacy whilst looking smart and bringing a modern look to the garden.
This house has genuine character and a rustic authenticity to the way it has been styled and finished. It is situated on a quiet road in St Werburghs and is well located for the city centre just over 1 mile away. It is also convenient for motorway access and is just over 1 mile from the independent shops, restaurants cafes and bars on Picton Street, Cheltenham Road & Gloucester Road.
This fantastic property Vendors Comments:
We've loved being in this quiet corner of St Werburghs. It's a great street with a strong community feel.
The house has been brilliant for us as couple and now as a young family. We've appreciated the amenities on the doorstep like the park and city farm, plus cafes, pubs and the awesome community centre.
The loft room has been an invaluable extra space for a home office plus room for hosting guests.
We've really enjoyed making the garden into a lush green extra room, and will miss making the most of playing outside there with our daughter in the daytime and hosting friends for bbqs in the evening.
