Local Area

Located at the northeast end of Morecambe Bay, Carnforth is a pretty town with lots to see and do. Thanks to its close proximity to both the coast and the hills – and several designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Carnforth is a popular spot for walkers, cyclists and anyone else who simply enjoys the great outdoors.

The River Keer and the Lancaster Canal also pass through the town centre, so there are plenty of charming little spots for relaxing or soaking up the sun.

Carnforth itself has many attractions, such as Leighton Hall, the ancestral home of the furniture maker Gillow, Carnforth Bookshop with more than 100,000 second-hand and antiquarian books, and of course Carnforth railway station, famously used by Oscar-winning film director Sir David Lean in his 1945 classic, Brief Encounter.

Another must-see attraction is the Nether Kellett Farmers Market – it's held on the second Sunday of every month at the Village Hall and is a great place to pick up produce and homemade food, as well as to admire local arts and crafts.

Our Retirement Living development boasts a central location, backing onto the beautiful Carnforth Cricket Club. You'll be within walking distance of all of the town's main amenities, including a Tesco supermarket just 800m away, and a Booths and Aldi within a mile.
