Most people make some sort of alterations to any home they own during their residence, some successful, others less so but they all contribute to what makes their home unique. Through the front door we find the entrance hall, with its practical and attractive ceramic tiled floor and to our left, a handy large storage cupboard to keep wet coats, shoes & umbrellas neatly out of sight. To our right another solid wood door leads us into the lounge.

What a welcoming room this is……it’s kept light and airy by the large picture window overlooking the front garden and maintaining a contemporary and modern appearance thanks to the very high quality wood laminate floor. Anyone familiar with our house descriptions will be aware of my feelings on wood laminate. Quite simply, there is no such thing as cheap wood flooring that does not look just that – cheap. Oh, and did I mention nasty? No such allegations can be made here, this could easily pass for the real thing. There is a large chimney breast containing the other thing that moves this home onto another level, the working log burner that provides not only warmth but the welcoming glow & smell that only a real flame can offer.

In the corner of the lounge, where you would expect to find the door, the whole corner of the room has been opened out giving open plan access to the kitchen and what was the inner hall. I know it sounds odd, but it really does work and gives a very attractive, almost Scandinavian feel to the space. Adding the inner hal, l also serves to give the kitchen an expansive air which is most attractive. The kitchen itself is sufficiently large to easily swallow a full sized dining table while keeping all the necessary work space and units around the perimeter and is as comprehensively equipped as the rest of this lovely home would lead you to expect.

The delightfully open feel is further enhanced by the easy access to the inner hall, with its continuation of the wood effect floors that feature almost throughout. Against expectations, this area remains very light, due to the open plan access and in turn offers access to the other rooms.
The first of which is the smallest of the bedrooms, A very comfortable single room with its side facing window, this could be used as a double but space for other furniture would be a little compromised if i’m honest.

Adjacent to here is the master bedroom, featuring one complete wall given over to a set of built in wardrobes, with mirror doors to give the impression of even more space. A large French door opens out into the enclosed rear garden with its patio dining space and bbq area, making this room a haven of peace.

Next to this is the remaining bedroom. Also overlooking the rear garden, this is a large and comfy room, offering more than enough space to accommodate the double bed, free standing wardrobe, dressing table and chest of drawers….As I said, it’s comfy!

Finally we come to the bathroom or to be more correct, shower room, and this is little short of stunning. Floored in high gloss ceramic tiles and featuring a hand basin and lavatory integrated into a single contemporary unit, this also has an enormous walk in shower stretching the full width of the room and powered directly from the mains via the gas combi central heating boiler mounted in the kitchen.

Passing through the kitchen once more and onto the gravel drive at the side of the home, we turn towards the garage. This has power and light and, with its fibreglass roof will remain weather proof for many trouble free years. A wooden fence runs from the garage to the corner of the home and contains a gate allowing us into the enclosed and very private rear garden…..

Immediately on our right is the French window from the master bedroom while to the left is the lawn. This is well kept and easily maintained with little in the way of flower beds to look after.
At the rear of the garage there is a brick extension currently serving as a garden shed, followed by a wooden log store to keep the lounge fire roaring away through the winter. Finally, beyond the shed is a large pond. Should any future owner wish to remove this out of concerns for the safety of small children, this is more easily done that you may think. When it was constructed, a shallow excavation was surrounded with sand bags which were covered in soil before having a pond liner placed inside. Thus most of the pond is above ground, so once emptied there should be little difficulty in filling in the remainder.
