Property Description

If you are looking for a detached 3 bed bungalow that’s ready to put your own stamp on it, fantastic location close to local amenities & schools for collecting the gran-kids, which makes this an ideal spacious family home with ample off road parking & a garage.....Then we really do have a NewHome4U

Come to our office for free Independent mortgage advice or just email or even ‘call': Do you like the photos? Well may be you would you like to view this home personally…..The good thing about NewHome4U is, we open 7 days a week and we’re physically in the office 4U just so that you can, ‘’like no other estate agent in Mold’

Sitting among a large and established group of bungalows on the border between Penyffordd and Penymynydd this home has much to commend it. Siting on a generous sized corner plot, it has a deceptively ordinary appearance from the front, but don’t be fooled. A neat triangular garden with a lawn and various colourful shrubs around the borders sits alongside the sloping driveway, as it travels along the side of the home towards the attached garage.

The ‘front’ door sits mid way along the side of the home. A fully glazed panel door with a further glazed panel beside it, this gives access to a small inner hall. Immediately in front of us is a further glass door into the impressive inner hall while to the right, a semi glazed door opens into the front facing kitchen. Two large picture windows capitalise on the slightly raised position of the home to give commanding views over the surrounding roofs and on the distant hills. (Ah, the advantages of living surrounded by bungalows!) The kitchen units are all in excellent condition, if a little dated for some tastes but they do provide for integrated fridge and freezer, though the fridge is not actually present. Neither, for that matter is the washing machine, although the plumbing necessary for its reinstatement remains. The room is long and although a little narrow, still offers sufficient space to house a small dining table for casual breakfasts.

Another door leads us back into the inner hall, which really does come as a surprise. From the outward appearance of this home, it would never occur to anyone that a hall of this size would be possible without severely compromising the size of all the other rooms, yet here it is. According to the owner, it was traditional practice at Christmas to place a huge extending dining table in here for the festivities, recalling the days of Kings in their dining halls.

Numerous doors lead off here, the first revealing nothing more exciting than a large cupboard providing ample storage space for Hoovers, coats, shoes, anything you don’t want to walk as far as the garage for and vitally, the gas combi central heating boiler.

The next door is for the bathroom, although to be absolutely correct as there is no bath, the wet room. This has been the subject of a complete make-over and features a pedestal hand basin, lavatory and shower area complete with numerous safety aids to put independent living within the realms of the more frail among us.

Next, and overlooking the rear of the home, is the first of the bedrooms. This took me by surprise, owing to the sheer size of the room. As it is currently configured, with two single beds, these seemed to be away in the far distance, leaving an extravagant amount of space for free standing ancillary furniture.

Adjacent to here is another bedroom, if anything made to feel even larger by virtue of the one complete wall of fitted wardrobes and kept beautifully bright by the large picture window alongside which, is mounted a French door leading out into the secluded rear garden. As we have deduced from the wet room, a previous occupant found mobility a problem and indeed, was forced to use a wheelchair on occasion. This has been catered for by the removal of any step between the room and the outside, allowing them to enjoy the garden via its wheelchair friendly walkways and making access to all its nooks and corners possible.

Stepping out into the garden we find that it is on something of a slope, through which the path winds up to a flat patio area, giving a very pleasant view over the whole. Here there is also a lean-to with large windows, making for a very effective potting shed for the more green fingered amongst us. Around the far side of the home, there is another area of lawn, also surrounded by various shrubs for colour. Although the garden sounds complicated, it has been designed to be maintained with the minimum of effort.

The next door off the hall brings us to the third and smallest bedroom, although ‘small’ is a relative term. This room would be a luxuriously sized single room and could if necessary be pressed into service as a workable double.

Finally, we come to the lounge. Here, the feeling of space continues, this time aided and abetted by the dual aspect windows bringing light in from different directions. One of these windows is set up at eye level, contributing not only light but also a delightful view towards the nearby Hope Mountain. The room is kept feeling cosy by an attractive living flame gas fire set in a wooden surround and mantelpiece with a faux marble base. This is probably not strictly necessary for warmth purposes as that, it is adequately catered for by the gas central heating, but the feeling of well being produced by the cheery glow of a real flame on a cold winter’s night is undeniable.

All in all this is a surprising home. Unassuming in appearance it suddenly, like mild mannered Clark Kent becomes more capable than you ever imagined, offering unexpected levels of space and accommodation. Having been the home of an elderly person it would benefit from some up-dating but is fundamentally sound and could be the starting point of someone’s journey towards their dream home….In other words, it’s ready to put your own stamp on it. The location is perfect, the local facilities are excellent, the possibilities are endless.
