You would not be able to have a good look in 1 day at these historic sights. The market town of Calne is in the Dooms Day Book and has many attractions at a 15 min drive.

If you like to take a nice walk in the country you are in an outstanding part of the country. The village has a regular bus service, the local bus stop is 3 mins walk from the cottage.
