Devizes is a splendid historic market town that still hosts a weekly traditional outdoor market on Thursdays. London city centre is around 2 hours 10 minutes. Bowood House and gardens are just up the road only 15 mins. Lacock is around the same distance with a super garden centre, historic village and Abbey, many well-known films have been filmed there and it is just a very short drive from the cottage.

Avebury World Heritage Site is only 20 mins from the cottage with Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow just around the corner. You would not be able to have a good look in 1 day at these historic sights. The market town of Calne is in the Dooms Day Book and has many attractions at a 15 min drive.

If you like to take a nice walk in the country you are in an outstanding part of the country. The village has a regular bus service, the local bus stop is 3 mins walk from the cottage.
