Faringdon is a market town with a selection of local shops and restaurants in the Vale of White Horse. The town was granted Fairtrade Town status, becoming the first Fairtrade Town in the South East of England in 2004. Faringdon is also connected to Wantage by the regular 67 bus service operated by Thames Travel. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes and connects intervening villages to the two towns.
