Cwmgors is a village which forms part of the community of Gwaun Cae Gurwen. One of the four villages making up the ward of Gwaun Cae Gurwen, Cwmgors is the first village at the top of the valley when travelling along the A474 from Pontardawe towards Ammanford. It is a ‘ribbon settlement’ stretching for a little more than a mile from the traffic calming at the ‘west end’ to Ger Yr Afon, indicating the beginning of Gwaun Cae Gurwen. Most of the history of the settlement relates to the mining era and its development leading to the need for housing for local workers in the pits, brick works and associated industries.

The centre offers a fully enclosed ball court (football, basketball, and netball) and a children’s play area.
