Testimonial From The Vendor

We purchased the house from new in October 2007 as a holiday home, even though our main home is only an hour's drive away in Nottingham. The purpose was to have easy access to the leisure and tourist attractions of Derbyshire and the Peak District. It has served this purpose very well, but with advancing age we are now less inclined to drive regularly and to concern ourselves with the care of two houses and two gardens.
We have felt that the secure gated site is particularly well suited to holiday home use.
The Merebrook park site attracted us as a leisure venue with a holiday feel because of its scenic position, surrounded by green hills, with the River Derwent running by it, and the Cromford canal towpath walks nearby. For shorter strolls there is a river side path to the site allotments located adjacent to a weir and fish ladder.
We have found Whatstandwell rail station useful for excursions to Matlock in one direction and Derby in the other. The scenic line crosses the river several times. The access to the A6 road has been convenient for our travel from Nottingham.
