Kerne bridge lower wye fishing rights
Guide price £50,000 - £80,000
Approximately 600 yards of left bank fishing in between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, set in the shadow of Goodrich Castle. Although short, this section of river Wye fishing contains all the main fish species.
This was the private beat of the famous Wye angler, Robert Pashley, and probably the inspiration as a boy for his lifelong passion for salmon fishing. His former residence is located on the hillside immediately behind the fishery, with the cribs that remain allowing you to follow in the footsteps of the once named, 'Wizard of the Wye'.
Barbel are common place in this part of the Wye, as are chub and pike, all running to specimen sizes. Other species include roach, dace, salmon, trout and grayling, perch and even the occasional carp, especially in the deep pool immediately below Kerne Bridge.
It is worth noting that the ruins of the Toll House still remain and there is vehicle access to the bank providing ample parking for 10 cars plus. Alternatively, there is parking available just yards from the top of the fishery.
