Hampton Fields is a hamlet immediately south-east of the historic town of Minchinhampton on the way to Tetbury, opposite Gatcombe Park. Little more than a row of mainly period properties, it is both rural and peaceful yet less than a mile from Minchinhampton, which has excellent services. These include a range of shops, doctors and dentists surgeries, a popular primary school and its Golf Club, whose two challenging courses are used as qualifiers for The Open. An official area of outstanding natural beauty hosting some of the most dramatic and varied scenery for miles around, this is great territory for walkers, cyclists and horse riders - with a choice of local livery stables. It is also an epi-centre for good schools both in the state and private systems.
