Property Description

Looking for a rare opportunity to buy a substantial detached family home with some beautiful period features, fantastic views over Dee estuary, large open-plan lounge/ dining room, contemporary kitchen, downstairs WC, a delightful garden & covered space to sit outside ……..This really is the NewHome4U

Come to our office for free Independent mortgage advice open 7 days a week or just email or even ‘call': Do you like the photos? Well may be you would you like to view this home personally because, one of the best things about NewHome4U is, we open 7 days a week and we’re physically in the office 4U just so that you can view, ‘’like no other estate agent in Mold’

Homes like this rarely come to the open market, views like this from your living room are what most people can only dream of and at a price like this, is accessible to a few more people than you may have originally first thought....And with great access routes to the A55, which can whisk you into Chester and beyond, I hope it's starting to stir up some feelings in your head.....Now let's just hope your heart catches up pretty soon too....

Nestled into a vantage point on the Old Chester Road sits this gorgeous 1930’s detached family home. It offers private off road parking for a few cars and there’s even a detached garage for one more – however, it’s been a long time since a car was parked in here but it does double up as an excellent storage room….As do most garages of today!

There’s a generous front garden that’s mostly made up of lawn and all of it enclosed with a low level wall accessed via wrought iron gates, which can be closed to secure your domain or to keep young kids in or the family dog. You could tarmac it further and increase the parking area for more cars but, there’s loads of parking on the road at the bottom, which is a very quiet road that offers access for the few exclusive homes lucky enough to be positioned here.

After you’ve parked your car on the tarmac driveway, you just walk up a couple of steps to the large feature brick outlined entrance archway, with its more modern uPVC double glazed front door neatly fitted into the middle, which sets this home apart from the more modern, completely characterless homes of todays build.

As you step through the front door into the entrance porch, you’ll notice it is a small entrance porch but it does give you enough space to take off any dirty shoes or place any wet umbrellas before you walk into the main entrance hallway – so it serves a great purpose. Now, just before you step in, take a moment to admire the original front door, now hidden away from the elements, which still carries the original feature that this home once proudly showed off. I’d say it’s a bit like the plumage of a colourful mating bird which flutters its beautiful feathers to attract its next mate…..Just like the gorgeous stained glass windows that shower different coloured lights into the hallway on a sunny day to attract its next owner.

Once inside the hallway you can see just how big this home really is, the hallway just seems endless! With its high quality wood effect flooring, carpeted stairs which lead to the first floor and a door that opens into the lounge / dining room.

The open-plan lounge / diner again gives the feeling of space and it’s there for your eyes to believe. Stretching the full length of the home, with its bay window at the lounge end offering far reaching views of the Dee Estuary and also allowing plenty of light to flood on in. There are some lovely original features like the picture rail and ceiling borders and a real flame effect gas fire, which emits a warm flicker when it’s lit, tucked into an original looking fireplace surround.

At the other end of this room, split only by an open arch, sits a large dining table and chairs, allowing the busiest of Christmas parties or family get-togethers to not feel cramped, as it easily fits in with lots of room to spare. Now, there’s a beautiful little touch which you don’t see often in the more modern homes, which is the blocked up ‘serving hatch’ leading through to the kitchen (obviously). This is here so that your food does not go cold when being transported to the dining room…. It does need to have the board removed that’s blocking it up, but that’s a job that even I could do…..And that’s saying something!

Double patio doors from the dining area open up into a well thought out covered patio area, a great place to continue drinks after your meal or if the weather prevails, an even better place for Alfresco dining or summer bbq season.

Returning back to the entrance hallway and walking past the wood panelled staircase, a useful under stair cupboard hides behind a panel door allowing ample space for the necessities that we need in life but try so desperately to hide at every opportunity, yup you guessed it, the hoover (other makes are available!)

Continuing along the hall you walk through a doorway which would originally have been the kitchen, but that was a long time ago. It’s now a downstairs cloakroom, which is great if you have kids who’ve been playing outside and need the toilet, or if you are entertaining friends and family. It basically means that your guests don’t have to traipse up and down your stairs to use the bathroom! There’s a toilet, sink, frosted window and a handy store cupboard in here.

Moving along past the cloakroom you enter into the contemporary kitchen, with loads of floor and wall mounted storage units, lots of draws and more work surfaces than you’ll ever need (you can tell i’m not a cook), which are great for food preparation and placing the numerous gadgets that every kitchen seems to need now-a-days. There are voids and plumbing for everything that you may need in here from washing machines to dishwashers and of course, the space for the upright fridge / freezer. A window at the far end lets you gaze over the rear garden and a door lets you enter it.

Walking up the carpeted stairs you reach the top floor landing, with its large frosted window to help keep it nice and bright up there, a panelled banister leads you to all of the rooms, starting with…..

The master bedroom and its bay window offers stunning far reaching views over the Dee estuary and beyond. The high ceilings give this home and rooms a much larger sense of space than its modern equivalents. Having said this, the bedroom can take a huge bed, wardrobes, bedside tables and a dressing table, so it’s a decent size regardless of ceiling height.

The second bedroom is just slightly bigger than the master bedroom, it’s just that if I owned this home i'd want my bedroom over looking the front aspect with its great views. The second bedroom only differs from the master in two ways, the views of the estuary are none but it does look out over the gorgeous rear garden. The second thing is, as I already pointed out, it’s slightly bigger, other than that….Oh and no bay window, apart from that, it’s a very similar and well-proportioned room.

The third bedroom is the smallest, comfortable enough for a single bed or a cot and perfect as a playroom or office, with a window facing out over the front allowing perfect views and if you like writing, gives you an ideal space to get your creative juices flowing….Maybe I should pop round and sit there!

Finally, at the far end of the home is the family bathroom. Fitted with a three piece contemporary white suite, a panelled bath, pedestal wash hand basin and toilet, floor to ceiling tiles and a frosted window that overlooks the rear garden, it’s a great sized room offering everything a bathroom would need, size, light and bathroom tools.

The rear garden climbs up to the far end and at the beginning offers a covered area of decking, followed by a patio area separated by a low wall which then layers into an area of lawn bordered by flowerbeds and a path that steps all the way to the top, where there’s a large vegetable patch just waiting for a green fingered Alan Titchmarsh wannabee…..
