Property Description

Plas Kynaston is a Grade II listed building within the Cefn Mawr Conservation Area. It was the home of the Kynaston Family, whose individual activities led to the development of the foundary which became the ironworks for the Pontcysyllte Aquaduct. Since the Second World War, it has had a variety of uses including a school and library.
In 2012 /13, The Welsh Georgian Trust undertook a restoration and redevelopment of the building, modernising its interior, but maintaining original features, in particular the grand staircase and Georgian sash windows, and incorporating six individual single bedroomed apartments, having electric storage heating, Howden's contemporary kitchens and modern en-suite shower rooms.
Cefn Mawr is situated approximately six miles from Wrexham town centre, where there is a wealth of shops, schools and local amenities. All major road links lie nearby, making it ideal for the commuter, and a regular bus service accesses the town and beyond. EPC rated E.

Directions

From Wrexham, proceed South on the A483 bypass, exiting at the Llangollen / Whitchurch junction and bearing right, towards Llangollen. At the first mini roundabout, bear left, signposted for Cefn Mawr and on entering the village, turn left into Plas Kynaston Lane. Go under the railway bridge and bear right, then next to the public library, turn into the driveway for Plas Kynaston.

Tarmacked driveway leads up to the building and around to the rear which reveals car parking, including two reserved parking spaces per apartment, plus extra visitor spaces. The property looks out over a public park and bowling green, with the pleasant backdrop of the Welsh hills beyond.
