This quiet two bedroom apartment on Clerkenwell Road is situated off a large courtyard entranceway. There is plenty of seating behind the private gate offering a nice place to sit to do some reading. The flat is on the second floor easily accessible by lift. The real highlight of the apartment are the two separate balconies.

The second bedroom has a private patio that offers plenty of space for two to relax with its reclining lounge chairs. The other balcony is accessible from the living room. The large living space shares an open kitchen and dining area. The wall to wall sofa seats six comfortably. Black and white pictures of Audrey Hepburn and Charlie Chaplin are contrasted with the grey couches and purple accented pillows. The polished hardwood floors keep guests cool in the summer. The balconies and many windows allow for excellent cross-ventilation eliminating all cooking odours and unwelcomed heat.

The living area has a 50+ inch wall-mounted hdtv flat screen TV. The kitchen has a relatively new Bosch gas hob and stove. The exhaust and microwave are also Bosch. The large refrigerator and freezer fit into the built-in cabinets. The kitchen has all the necessities including toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery. There?S also a washer and dryer combination unit. The bedrooms have full sized beds with memory foam style cushioned mattresses and down pillows. The master bedroom has excellent closet and cabinet space with en suite bathroom and standing shower stall.

Area

Clerkenwell is located in the borough of Islington. It was an ancient parish in medieval times. Clerkenwell is named after a well where Parish clerks would hold biblical plays. Most notably, this area was home to London’s Little Italy from approximately 1850 to 1960. The community still exists, though much smaller, and is based around St. Peter’s Italian Church with street fairs taking place in July.

There is a Waitrose just three blocks away, followed by neighbouring Pizza Express, Abokado, Breddos Tacos, and many local shops.
For some gastropub fun, try The Eagle, it’s of the originals in this area. It serves up Mediterranean cuisine mostly off the grill. The only way to catch the menu is on the chalkboard as the chef changes it daily. There’s a live feed on their website.

For some great street food try the Exmouth market, off Farringdon Lane. Slightly further off is L. Terroni & Sons Italian deli, one of the best Italian specialty shops around.
