For such a small village, Duffield is very well served with public houses, restaurants, churches and shops, including an extremely well-stocked supermarket. Duffield has a regular bus service into Derby City Centre to the South or Belper to the North (normally operating every 15mins), and train line from Duffield Railway Station to Derby City Centre (one short 7min ride) to the South and Belper, Matlock Bath and Matlock to the North.
The village boasts many sport clubs including The Chevin Golf Club, Duffield Squash and Tennis Club, Fitness classes held at local venues, including The Ecclesbourne School Sports Hall, locally-run cycling and runnings clubs. Duffield Dynamos Football Club, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Ranger clubs for the young adults.
