The Grade I Listed Mansion was built in 1686 in the fine honey coloured Ashlar stone, typical of prime Cotswold mansions.
The Mansion is reputed to have hosted a visit by Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton and became the home of Sir Winston Churchill’s cousin, the late Edward Spencer Churchill. An additional wing was later added to house his famous extensive art collection.
