What is ‘close care’ and what services are provided?
Kilfillan Park is managed by Jelf Close Care Limited, a not-for-profit organization, whose main objectives are to administer the block of apartments and to provide 24 hour Close Care to the residents. A Care Manager and part-time care workers are employed. A carer is on site 24 hours a day. Each resident has a pendant alarm to alert the carer.
Close Care provides the comfort of readily available assistance, but does not provide nursing or medical help. It is a condition of purchase that prospective residents meet the Manager, to ensure that the correct level of care can be provided, before purchase is agreed.

• One carer on duty for just 8 apartments (allowing time to give individual tailored care).
• Approximately one hour of tailored care, per flat, per day.

The monthly service charge is currently £1,085 and, in addition to the cost of the care services above, includes the upkeep of the gardens, lift repair and service, cleaning of external windows and gutters, upkeep of communal areas, external decoration and repairs, building insurance, service of fire alarms and smoke detectors.
