Redrow at Abbey Farm - About the development:
Situated to the north of Swindon, on the edge of glorious open Cotswolds countryside, Abbey Farm is a delightful place to set up home and raise a family. Here you'll get to enjoy all the superb facilities of Swindon, without living in the town itself, giving you the best of both worlds, just like our Heritage Collection homes.
You'll also enjoy excellent commuter connections, with the A419 just a couple of minutes away, connecting you to the M4 to open up the whole of the south of England. Swindon also has direct trains to London Paddington in around an hour.
Local Information
Leisure
The new development is right on the doorstep of one of Swindon’s most popular attractions, the Abbey Stadium, home of both speedway and greyhound racing, along with many other events. The circuit is currently undergoing a £5m revamp. Also close by is the Haydon Centre, which provides a gym and sports hall, while golfers will be spoiled for choice with several top class local clubs all within a short drive.
In Swindon you'll find a choice of two cinemas, including an iMax screen at the Empire, along with the Wyvern Theatre, the Meca music venue and a popular arts centre. For real culture vultures, there is a thriving local music scene at smaller venues throughout the town.
Out and about you'll discover both the Cotswolds and the North Wessex Downs within easy driving distance offering endless options for hiking, mountain biking and getting back to nature.
Shopping
Residents of Abbey Farm will enjoy the close proximity of Orbital Retail Park, offering a choice of big name stores such as Next, M&S and Argos, without having to go into town. The thrice weekly Blunsdon Indoor Market and Car Boot Sale takes place nearby, next to the Abbey Stadium, every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with bargains galore.
There are lots more bargains to be found at Swindon Outlet Village in town, along with a choice of shopping centres, such as The Parade and the Brunel Centre, and a large pedestrianised shopping district.
Dining
There are lots of delightful country inns to be found in the villages to the north of Swindon, and it is well worth exploring to discover a hidden gem serving great food in a traditional setting. The Crown at Broad Hinton, The Cold Harbour in Blunsdon, The White Heart in Wroughton, the Red Lion in Cricklade and The Bell Inn in Purton are all well worth checking out.
In the town, you'll find something for every taste and budget, from the Pizza Hut at the nearby Orbital Shopping Park, to the fine dining in the town centre. The Greek Olive, Ruchi (Indian), Los Gatos (Mediterranean) and Bistro Les Chats (French) are all highly recommended, with Moshan Island Grill offering something different from the sunny shores of the Caribbean.
Amenities
There will be a convenience store on the development when it's completed, and there's also a Tesco Extra and a Cost Cutter close by for your day to day needs. The huge Asda at Orbital Shopping Park is also conveniently close for your weekly shop.
For GPs, register with Blunsdon Surgery, and there are many options for local dentists, including Abbey Meads Dental Practice. There is also a gp practice within the Abbey Meads centre.

Cirencester is 13miles, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Oxford and Newbury are all around 30miles, Bristol is around 50miles and London around 80miles. Bristol Airport is 58miles, with a larger choice of flights available at Heathrow, around 70miles away, via the M4.

When completed, the development is also expected to have its own primary school.
