About Saxon Meadows, Market Harborough

About the Development

Market Harborough was named by the Sunday Times as one of the ten best places to live in the Midlands in 2018. They called it a ‘Goldilocks town’, where everything was just right. It is close enough to London, but not too close. Large enough to have everything you need, without becoming a bland chain-store city. Add in great schools and excellent road and rail connections and it’s easy to see why the town is so admired.

Saxon Meadows, coming soon to the south west of the town, will bring sought after three and four bed room family homes in Market Harborough from Redrow’s award winning Heritage Collection. This is sure to be a popular development, so make sure you register your interest now to be first in the queue when the plots are released. Remember, you only need 5% deposit with Help to Buy and Redrow could help you sell too.

The list is topped by Dim Sum Master, Ascough’s Bistro, the Coach and Horses at Lubenham and Milo’s Café, with Shagorika, The Royal George and Veneto also highly recommended.

Just around the corner, The Farmer’s Kitchen at Farndon Fields offers mouth watering meals, all home cooked and based on the produce of the farm. It proud to be named Farm Restaurant of the Year in 2016.

Education

Moving your family to Saxon Meadows means saying goodbye to the school run, with both primary and secondary schools within a mile of your home. Farndon Fields Primary, just three quarters of a mile away, is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, while Welland Park Academy offers mixed education for 11 to 18 year olds just a mile from home, with regular buses for your less enthusiastic teens. Rated ‘outstanding’ across the board, you couldn’t ask for a better start in life.

For independent education, Uppingham and Oakham schools are both within easy reach.

Shopping

As the Sunday Times pointed out, Market Harborough is big enough for all your shopping, without becoming a faceless arcade. The town centre is home to countless independent shops and chic boutiques that genuinely offer something different to the normal city mall. As the name suggests, the market is a major feature of the town’s retail offering, and has been for over 800 years. There are over sixty stalls available every day except Monday, both in the market hall and out in the square, with a regular farmers’ market on the first Thursday of the month and a food fair on the third Thursday.

Closer to home, the Farndon Fields Farm Shop on Harborough Road is as fresh as it gets, offering a huge range of locally grown produce, home-made pies and pastries and fish fresh from the Essex coast.

Kettering and Corby are around 10miles, Leicester 15miles and Northampton 18miles.

The town sits on the Midlands mainline for rail services to the north and London. The station has a huge choice of regular services, reaching Kettering in 10minutes, Leicester in 12minutes and London St Pancras in under an hour.

If you are heading further afield, Birmingham, Luton and East Midlands Airports are all easy to reach via the motorways, or you can change to a Eurostar service at St Pancras for Paris, Brussels and many other destinations on the continent.
