Located on Buckhurst Hill within easy walking distance of the Central Line station, this handsome detached residence is also surrounded by open green spaces, including Whitehall Plain at the bottom of the road, where you can enjoy a picnic, go jogging or walk your pets. Spacious upstairs and down, this house has a certain warmth to it, and looks and feels like a family home should.
The ground floor features a large entrance hall, beyond which can be found the well-proportioned living and dining rooms and the large kitchen. These provide more than ample space for all the activities a busy family will engage in, from making and taking meals, to watching a film together, to entertaining friends on the weekend. Sleeping accommodation is equally generous, with sizeable bedrooms where family members can relax in privacy, sleep in comfort, and conveniently put away their personal belongings. For anyone wishing to create an extra bedroom the loft can be extended to create a large en-suite double bedroom.
This property has a very manageable gated garden to the rear, great for keeping an eye on younger children, and those with school aged children will be delighted to know this neighbourhood is surrounded by great schools. For parents with grown up children, the two car drive to the front is a definite asset. Another feature of the garden is the outbuilding which can be used for a workshop, an office, or storage.
What the Owner says:
When we moved here 30 years ago, we bought it because it was such an unusual property, unlike the others we had viewed, and it gave us the opportunity to put our own stamp on this house. We completely refurbished when we moved in.
The location is great, Buckhurst Hill is a popular place to live for people who work and play in the City due to the proximity of the underground station, from which Liverpool Street is approximately 25 minutes. There is also a charming area around the station where you will find chic cafes, supermarkets, shops. Or you can catch buses easily to any of the surrounding areas like Loughton, Epping and Wanstead. What we liked most though was walk our dog in Epping Forest.
