Situation

Braeside sits within a rural area on the west side of Dundee that is gradually being developed with several new residential developments being proposed in the area. Braeside is about 1 mile from Liff which is a lovely village which lies approximately 6 miles to the West of Dundee and provides a local primary school in a peaceful and tranquil setting whilst being close to all amenities and services in Dundee.
Dundee is the fourth largest city in Scotland with a population of about 150,000. The city is presently undergoing a significant uplift in fortunes and is promoted as "One City, Many Discoveries" in honour of Dundee's history of scientific activities and of the rrs Discovery, Robert Falcon Scott's Antarctic exploration vessel, which was built in Dundee and is now berthed at Discovery Point. Biomedical and technological industries have arrived since the 1980s, and the city now accounts for 10% of the United Kingdom's digital-entertainment industry. Dundee has two universities - the University of Dundee and Abertay University. In 2014 Dundee was recognised by the United Nations as the uk's first unesco City of Design for its diverse contributions to fields including medical research, comics and video games.
With the decline of traditional industry, the city has adopted a plan to regenerate and reinvent itself as a cultural centre. In pursuit of this, a £1 billion master plan to regenerate and to reconnect the Waterfront to the city centre started in 2001 and is expected to be completed within a 30-year period, with the Dundee Victoria & Albert Museum opening on 15 September 2018 at a cost of £80 million.
Planning Permission has been granted by Dundee Council for a residential development in the field to the north of Braeside.

General description

Braeside is a detached two storey house built of white painted harled brick walls with pitched grey tile roofs and sits amidst well maintained mature gardens and a lovely area of woodland. The house is south facing and benefits from a large patio area to the front of the house and extensive areas of lawn to the front and side. The house is accessed by a short driveway that leads to a spacious parking area beside the house and in front of the garage.
Internally there is well laid out and spacious accommodation over two floors. An impressive feature of the house is the large windows and patio doors on the south elevation, giving a lovely outlook over the gardens and grounds.
Historically, the house was built as the Hospital Director's House for the former Liff Hospital. Some years ago, the hospital was redeveloped as an upmarket residential development retaining many of the fine original hospital buildings and new homes built within the lovely mature and well managed wooded grounds.
