Uffington is a pretty village at the foot of the famous White Horse Hill, the oldest horse chalk carving in the country.

This is an amazing local event organised and run by and for the three villages of Uffington, Baulking and Woolstone - initially it was to raise funds to build a worthwhile village hall but now that there is a magnificent village hall in place the show has gone on to help create sports clubs, tennis courts, etc and to help worthwhile local causes in all three villages.

The church in Uffington is particularly magnificent and often referred to as 'The Cathedral of the Vale'.

The CofE primary school in the village was judged to be 'good' by Ofsted in 2017.

Directions

From Wantage take the B4507 towards Childrey and Ashbury. After 2.5 miles proceed straight on at the Childrey Holloway crossroads. In about 2.3 miles turn right at the Blowing Stone crossroads and proceed to Uffington. At the village hall turn left onto High Street and Long Thatch will be found on your right hand side.
