Directions
From junction 4 of the M8 Edinburgh Glasgow road (just south west of Bathgate) head north on the A801. Proceed straight on at the roundabout. Ignore the turnoff to Armadale at the second roundabout. At the third roundabout turn left to Westfield B8047. Continue straight on at Westfield onto the B8028. Just short of Avonbridge turn left and Gowanbank and its trees is on your left a mile down this road, just after a turnoff to your left.
From the M9 junction 3 east of Polmont proceed south on the A80. After 2 miles turn 3rd left on the B825 to Avonbridge. Go through Standburn and turn left at the T junction at Avonbridge. Go straight on through the village ignoring 3 turnoffs to the right. (The third one is just after a bend to the left). Turn next right and Gowanbank is in the trees a mile later on the left.
